What make a good leader?
An intro to Titus – v 1-4
… a servant of God … to God’s elect
… know the truth about godliness
… hope of eternal life… promised
… God is 100% faithful
… content and reason for preaching
Jesus divinity – “God our saviour” (v3) = “Jesus our saviour” (v 4)
Leadership in the church v 6-9
… blameless
… one wife
… faithful and reliable children
… not be wild nor disobedient
v7 – elders = overseers (bishops)
… not to be self pleasing
… self controlled temperament.
… not a drunkard
… not a violent person
… not be greedy
… hospitable
… lover of what is good
…of sound mind
… upright, devout (pious, holy)
… disciplined
…hold fast to the teaching of the word of God
