… life is automatically going to be tough simply because they follow Jesus.
Romans 8, … creation itself is suffering and decaying
The Spirit is only the first fruits
… God’s glory is going to be revealed in us.
… there is so much better to come.
The Spirit helps us live now
… he intercedes for us in prayer.
So what weaknesses are there in my prayer?
… my prayer should reflect my desire for God to do what his will wants.
… esp when we face suffering.
… God is working according to his purposes for our good?
But what if …?
Someone is against us? V 31
Someone brings a charge against us? V 33
There is someone who condemns us? V 34
Someone or something tries to separate us from God protecting love? V35ff
The Spirit of Power
… the Spirit’s goals for me on this earth are all about holiness and eternity.
The Holy Spirit’s power is to point us to the source of all power that lasts for all eternity
Living Now
Romans 12:1-2, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
