TRUST GOD
Isaiah 2:22, “Stop trusting in man who has but breath in his nostrils of what account is he?”
Isaiah 48:17-18, “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea”

Isaiah 30:18, “Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; to rise to show you compassion. For the Lord is a god of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him”

The walk of the servant – Isaiah 50:4-9
Verse 4 – knowledge of his word
The word of God is central to the life of the servant.
Verse 5 – The servant loves the word of God
Verse 6 – The servant stands firm on what God’s word says.

The walk of God’s people – Isaiah 50:10-11
“Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the word of his servant? Let him who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God. But now, all those who light fires and provide yourselves with flaming torches, go , walk in the light of your fires and of the torches you have set ablaze. This is what you shall receive from my hand: You will lie down in torment”

TRUST GOD
“fear God and obey the word of the servant”
= willing and open ears to God’s Word
= endure suffering

Our Walk as God’s people
… in whom do you trust?
Whose wisdom gives light to the path that you are walking in life…
“Do you fear God and obey the commands of Jesus his servant”
Are you eager to hear and heed his word …?
Are you prepared to stand firm even if it costs you …?

Question for MT – In light of Isaiah 50 what does the person who fears God and obeys the word of Jesus look like in today’s world?
