“Christ alone” … instead of what?

Who saving faith is all about? … it’s all about Jesus and Jesus alone
Why should we care?
Jesus has done absolutely everything
… & there is absolutely nothing more we can add to what Jesus has done
Jesus is the only way
John 14:6 “Jesus answered, “I am the way
and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Jesus has done all the work
John 14:3 “And if I go
and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that
you also may be where I am.”
John 19:30 “It is finished”
Problem – We take the outworking of the Gospel and we apply it to the Gospel, so that we can do something to demonstrate we are worthy of the grace God has given us
What is it important?
Problem – It leads us to put our hope in things other than Jesus
Important! We are saved by Christ alone so that we may become his possession … saved for Christ
We are representatives of Jesus in all that we do
… we need to demonstrate Jesus in all that we do
