Mary’s Song

Luke 1:26-56

  1. God is mindful of us (Luke 1:46-49)
  2. A transformed life (Luke 1:50-53)
  3. Jesus the link (Luke 1:54-55)

My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me – holy is his name. Luke 1:46-49

Blessed are you who are poor…
Blessed are you who hunger now…
Blessed are you who weep now…
Blessed are you when men hate you…
But woe to you who are rich…
Woe to your who are well fed now…
Woe to you who laugh now…
Woe to you when all men speak well of you. Luke 6: 20-16

His mercy extends to those who fear him,
From generation to generation.
He has performed mighty deeds with his arm;
He has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.
He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble.
He has filled the hunger with good things but has sent the rich away empty. Luke 1:50-53

He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful to Abraham and his descendants forever, even as he said to our fathers. Luke 1: 54-55
