Is God really God?
Isaiah 41-42 – God is real, he reveals the future… he will send the servant … to restore people from all the nations … so they can praise and glorify God.

God alone is the only real God. All the idols of the nations are simply, nothing
Is 41:24 … those who trust them are detestable.
The Coming Servant

Justice … upholding of God’s authoritative judgement
Verse 6 … a light to all the nations
Verse 8, “I am the LORD, YHWH… That is my name. I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols”
Verse 9 … announced things before they come to be and then he does them
The response of the people of Isaiah’s time
1) Praise
– Isaiah 42:10 “Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth”
– Isaiah 42:12, “let them give glory to the Lord and proclaim his praise to the islands”
2) Trust God
– Is 42:17, If you trust idols then your will be put to utter shame
How this passage impacts us?
