Romans 7:1-6 – No Authority Left

Proverbs 6:1-19

Romans 7:1-6

Does grace mean that sin is not important?
Does grace need rigorous rules?

The law has no authority after death – v 1

… when death comes the rule of law ends – for that person!

The example of marriage – v 2-3

Because the law has no authority – v4
So, my brothers, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God.
We have died to law.

We now belong to another … who gives us eternal life.
The one who was raised from the dead
So that we might be people who bear fruit to God.

Producing fruit to God
Galatians 5:22- 23, Love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, faith meekness, self-control, that’s attitude.
Hebrews 13:15, “The fruit of lips that confess his name.”
Col 1:10, “we pray this in order that you might live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God…”
Any right attitude or right action that seeks to glorify God

Bearing the fruit to God’s glory in your personal & family life

Bearing fruit to God’s glory in your work context

When the fruit bowl seems empty!

Fruit that glorifies God is not measured by the kilo
… a lifelong process.

Fruit that glorifies God can be impacted by sin

Question: “As people saved by GRACE shown to you through Jesus Christ, how are you seeking to bear fruit to God … to the glory of God?” (both in the home and your work place)
