Philippians 1:27-2:11 – One In Christ

Acts 16:11-40

Philippians 1:27-2:11

What is it that shapes your identity?

How are we to live?
Phil 1:27, “a life worthy of gospel”
“behave as citizens worthy of the gospel of Christ”
… godly behaviour is a reflection of our citizenship in Christ
We should strive together… as one… for the faith of the gospel.

verse 28 … this will result in opposition.
verse 29 … it is a gospel privilege to suffer for the sake of the gospel.

Qu: Are we at TTG Anglican standing firm and are we united for the faith of the gospel?

Where does our opposition come from?
1) From those who are false teachers in our denominational church

2) Those who are outside the denominational church who oppose the gospel

What this means for us as a church
… this should transform how we relate to one another at our deepest core.
If we are going to be involved in gospel partnerships then the gospel must impact us … all of us together… to our very core.
Being like-minded …
Striving together…
… to have the same love

The cost of gospel unity
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit rather be humble and value others above yourself not looking after your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

God uses us … together … striving side by side in gospel driven ministry.

Be like Christ
… verse 5, to have the same mindset as Christ.

For us today
1) Not anti “everything else”

2) Planning gospel partnerships
