To church leaders
a) Be willing shepherds (not under compulsion)
…the difference between ‘a leader of a church’ and ‘a shepherd of God’s people’.
…the sheep belong to God not to them.
… to be vigilant for things that will attack God’s sheep.
b) Be eager to Serve (not after shameful gain)
… you should not be in it for the money.
c) Lead by example (do not be domineering)
d) Focussed on heavenly crown (from start)
To younger men
To all of us
… act humbly towards one another.
Verse 7, “in due time God will lift us up”
… cast all our anxieties of life on God… he cares for us.
…be alert and sober minded.
…Resist him, stand firm in the faith
God himself will restore you…
… make you strong
… keep you firm and steadfast.
